Fun Run to help third grader

Local educators and parents are organizing a Fun Run on September 21 to help raise money for Caleb Garfield. Garfield is a third grader at Westwood Elementary and was diagnosed with diabetes. A service dog was recommended to help monitor his blood sugar irregularities. Entry forms can be obtained at the Greenwood Chamber of Commerce or any school office.

Third Annual Pancake Breakfast

Focus on Greenwood is having their 3rd Annual Pancake Breakfast on Saturday, September 21 at the Pizza Barn. The breakfast runs from 6 a.m. until 10 a.m. Tickets for adults are $4 and children are $2. The menu will be pancakes, sausage, juice, milk or coffee. All proceeds will be used to fund scholarships and provide assistance with medical expenses for local students and families.

2nd Annual Bluegrass Festival

Mansfield’s 2nd Annual Bluegrass Festival is scheduled for Saturday, October 5th, 2013 from 11am - 5 pm at the Mansfield City Lake. This festival is a fundraiser to help restore the Dixie Theatre. Admission will be $5.00 per adult, children under 12 will be admitted free. Bands will include Lakeview Bluegrass Boys, Rusty Plow Band, Crossroads, Just Us, Common Thread and Sparks Grass. Celebrating a Century of Praise

First Assembly of God in Greenwood is celebrating a century of praise and worship on Sunday, September 22. The celebration will begin with 10:30 a.m. service and will include lunch, dunking booths, a video presentation and much more. Join Pastors John and Tricia Miller at 725 Park Drive in Greenwood.
