Santa Claus is coming to town

The KTCS Santa Train will be at Farmers Bank’s Main Office on December 6 from 4-5 p.m. Free portraits with Santa will be available.

Christmas Open House

The annual Christmas Open House will be held on December 8 this year. The special section listing participating businesses will be printed in next week’s Greenwood Democrat.

Volunteers needed to deliver turkeys to shut-in senior citizens.

Walters, Gaston, Allison & Parker are seeking volunteers to help prep and deliver free turkeys to shut-in senior citizens on Thanksgiving morning. Anyone interested in helping with this project call Walters, Gaston, Allison & Parker and ask for Sheri at 996-2100. These deliveries will be to shut-in senior citizens in the Greenwood area.

Greenwood Trail of Lights

Focus on Greenwood would like to invite everyone to visit the Greenwood Trail of Lights in Bell Park. The Lights will be on nightly from December 1 through December 31 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. There is a suggested donation of $3 per car. Proceeds are used to help local youth with medical expenses and scholarships. A live nativity will also be included from December 16-19.

Christmas Potluck Dinner

The South Sebastian Retired Teachers Association will meet Monday, December 4 for their annual Christmas potluck dinner at 10:30 a.m. in the Greenwood Methodist Church Family Building. All retired school personnel are invited to come and bring a guest to enjoy good fellowship and good food.

Yule 5K Race registration

Registration time has arrived for the annual 5K Yule Race. The race will be held on December 14, 2013. There will be a prize for the best Christmas Theme outfit. Pre-registrations must be in by December 12 and T-shirts will be given to the first 150 pre-registrants. The forms are available online at under “Calendar of Events” or at the Greenwood Chamber of Commerce.
