Garden Club NW District Meeting

The Greenwood Garden Club will be hosting the Arkansas Federation of Garden Club’s NW District Meeting on October 3 at the Senator Ed Wilkinson Pavilion in Bell Park. Registration is at 9 a.m., business at 10 a.m. with a luncheon and program with Doug Kinslow. A tour of the Historical District will follow. The theme will be “Preserving the Past and Embracing the Future.”

Nashville Live at Excelsior

Wanda Lloyd will emcee for Nashville Live, a 7-piece band, at the Excelsior Building on Highway 253 on October 4. The free concert is open to the public and will run from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m.

Retired Teachers Meeting

The South Sebastian County Retired Teachers Association will meet Monday October 7 at 2:00 in the Greenwood Farmers Bank Community Room. Matt Hughes will be speaking on the changes in medical enrollment. It is almost that time again. If you have questions about Medicare or insurance, please plan on attending this important meeting. All public school retirees are welcome.

Guitar-B-Que

There will be a free concert at the Bell Park Amphitheater on October 10 starting at 7 p.m. In addition to live music, food will be available from Scooter’s Barbecue and Shorty’s Tamales. Bring a lawn chair.

Annual Book Sale

The Friends of the Library are now taking donations of good used books for their Annual Book Sale. Books may be dropped off at the Sebastian County Library during normal library hours. The Book Sale will start on October 19.

Bell Park Fundraiser

“An Evening in the Park with Tim Ernst” Sunday November 3rd at 6:00 p.m. at the Senators Ed Wilkinson Pavilion at Bell Park. Guest speaker is Arkansas’ leading wilderness photographer, Tim Ernst. Program and Dinner is $30.00 per person or a table for $300 includes 8 seats. Tickets are available at Osborn Insurance Agency, Greenwood Chamber, Farmers Bank and Johnson Dermatology.
