Snow days adjust school year

Due to the extra days off from snow and ice this year, Greenwood schools will extend until June 6 and April 18, which was scheduled as a day off will be a school day.

Homemakers Club

Excelsior Extension Homemakers Club meets the third Thursday of each month at 10 a.m. at Farmers Bank Means Wilkinson Community Room. The next meeting is February 20.

Book Endorsement at Fort Smith Public Library

Jerry Upton will endorse his book “Revelation of Christ”, a commentary on the Book of Revelation, at the Ft. Smith Public Library on Sunday, February 23 from 2-4 p.m. More information is available at http://jerryupton.wordpress.com.

GHS Chili Supper

A Chili Supper including chili, cheese, crackers, cake and beverage will be held on March 7 from 5-7 p.m. The supper is sponsored by the Sebastian County Extension Homemakers Council. Funds raised will be used to support educational and community service projects. There will also be a pie sale, silent auction and door prizes. Tickets are $5 for adults, $3 for children age 4 to 10 and free for children 3 and under. Tickets will be sold at the door. For more information, contact Paula Resch at 479-996-4943.

Election for Mayor

The Special Election for a new Greenwood Mayor will be held on May 20, 2014. The registration period for candidates is February 24 (noon) until March 3 (noon).

Senior Center Lunch

Betty Wilkinson Senior Activity Center offers lunch at 11:30 each day, followed by cards, dominoes and visits with new and old friends. The center is open 5 days a week from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
