Excelsior Breakfast

The Excelsior Community Association will be holding a Benefit Breakfast for operations and maintenance of the community building on Saturday, March 8th, from 7-10 a.m. A $5 Donation will get sausage, eggs, pancakes, biscuit and gravy, orange juice and coffee. The breakfast will be held at the community building at the corner of Hwy 253 and Quillman Road. The Annual Business meeting will be held at the community building on Monday, March 10 at 7 p.m.

GHS Chili Supper

A Chili Supper including chili, cheese, crackers, cake and beverage will be held on March 7 from 5-7 p.m. The supper is sponsored by the Sebastian County Extension Homemakers Council. Funds raised will be used to support educational and community service projects. There will also be a pie sale, silent auction and door prizes. Tickets are $5 for adults, $3 for children age 4 to 10 and free for children 3 and under. Tickets will be sold at the door. For more information, contact Paula Resch at 479-996-4943.

Spring Forward

Daylight Savings Time is fast approaching. On March 9, we all get to move a short distance into the future as all clocks are advance forward one hour.

Storm Debris Pick-up deadline

All storm debris in Greenwood must be put out by March 10. The city also will not pick up any limbs put out by contractors after March 10, according to a news release. Because of debris volume, limitations will be placed on future monthly limb pickup. Regular limb pickup will resume April 1, according to the city.

Senior Center Lunch

Betty Wilkinson Senior Activity Center offers lunch at 11:30 each day, followed by cards, dominoes and visits with new and old friends. The center is open 5 days a week from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. SEE PAGE 3 FOR THEIR MENU.
