New Merchants meeting in Greenwood
In an effort to benefit the Greenwood retailers and boost our local economy, the Greenwood merchants will hold the first organizational meeting on January 23 at 5:30 p.m. in the Chamber of Commerce Meeting Room. All retail business owners with a desire to see business thrive in Greenwood are invited to attend.
Dixie Theatre fundraising continues
There is a Dixie Theatre fundraiser set for 5 p.m. on Saturday, January 25. The event will take place at the Mansfield City Hall. In addition to live bluegrass bands, there will be a dinner and concessions. For more information, call Becky at 479-928-5552.
Prom Fair Fundraiser
There will be a Greenwood High School Bulldog Breakout fundraiser on Saturday, February 8. The Prom Fair fundraiser will be held from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the GHS Student Union. Admission is $2. Sellers must drop off Friday, February 7 from 5-8 pm at the Student Union. Drop off fee is $3/item (refundable if item sells). The split is 80% to consignor, 20% to Bulldog Breakout. First Impressions class offered
The Arkansas Department of Parks and Tourism will be presenting a training class called First Impressions. This is beneficial for anyone that is a “touch-point” business with contacts for visitors to the area. The “Welcome to Arkansas” Training Program seeks to improve customer service by taking the participants to a new level of awareness of the needs of visitors to our community. The First Impressions class will be held on February 13, 2014, at the Farmers Bank Means Wilkinson community room from 9:00 a.m. until noon.
