PTO Ice Cream Night at Dog Pound

East Pointe PTO will have an Ice Cream Night at the Dog Pound Ice Cream Parlor on Thursday, October 10 from 5 to 8 p.m.

Fall Festival

Charleston Fall Festival will be held Saturday, Oct. 12 at the Charleston Fairgrounds. There will be live music, chili, cornbread, beans and desserts. A 50/50 raffle will be held along with kid’s bounce around and Rock Climbing Wall. Admission is free and proceeds benefit H&H Rebuilders a local business that was totally destroyed by fire on Sept. 5.

Paws in the Park

The Sebastian County Humane Society will be holding their annual Paws in the Park: A Trail of Tails on October 12. The event will take place at Creekmore Park from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. and will include hot dogs & hamburgers. There will be a rabies and microchip clinic as well as dog adoptions. There will also be face painting, a kissing booth and Tommy Street from KOOL 104.7 will be on hand with a live remote. Buried Treasure: A Tales of the Crypt Event

There will be a Tales of the Crypt Event titled “Buried Treasure” in the Jenny Lind Cemetery on October 13 from 2 p.m.-5 p.m. Tours will be held every 15 minutes. To get to the cemetery, turn east on Gate Nine Cut Off from Highway 71. The cemetery lies just ahead on the north side of the road. Costumed actors will reenact various moments in the history of Jenny Lind. Tales of the Crypt is sponsored by the South Sebastian County Historical Society.

Annual Book Sale

The Friends of the Library are now taking donations of good used books for their Annual Book Sale. Books may be dropped off at the Sebastian County Library during normal library hours. The Book Sale will start on October 19.
