Quink comes to Fort Smith

The Mary McDonald Music Series continues its 2013-2014 season with a concert by Quink, a remarkable group of five Dutch singers whose special style has helped establish their reputation as a group that captivates audiences with its varied and beautiful repertoire. The free performance will be on Tuesday, January 28, 2014 at 7 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church (116 N. 12th St.) in Fort Smith.

All Mary McDonald Music Series concerts are presented free of charge as a gift to the community.

Since Quink’s debut in 1978, this remarkable Dutch vocal ensemble has risen to the top of its field and is invited to perform on prestigious concert series around the world. These five professional singers have developed a unique sound which allows them to illustrate with style and expressiveness the great variety of a cappella music spanning four centuries and in three languages. The ensemble often performs folk songs and close harmony arrangements, and it concludes its performances with lighter arrangements. Quink’s first U. S. tour in 1985 was so artistically successful that the group now returns to the U.S. twice a year.

Admission to all McDonald Series concerts is free and open to the public. The Series is totally supported by private donations. No fees are taken at the door; however, donations and underwriting are gratefully accepted to help continue offering this musical gift to the community. Phone (479) 783-8919 for more information.
