Donors can feel cool at July blood drive

The University of Arkansas - Fort Smith will host a blood drive July 21 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. in room 129 of the Smith-Pendergraft Campus Center, according to Stephanie London of Fort Smith, student activities event coordinator.

The drive, which is free and open to the public, is sponsored by the UAFS Student Activities Office and rewards donors with vouchers for free tickets to the Tulsa Zoo.

Because it is a one-day drive, donors will have a shorter timeframe to sign up and give blood than drives held during the academic year. But London said last year’s July drive was successful despite being limited in size.

“We did one last summer when blood supplies were low, and it was successful, so we decided to do another small one this summer,” she said.

In addition to ticket vouchers, donors will receive a “feel cool” T-shirt. For more information or to make an appointment, contact London by telephone at 479-788-7697 or by email at stephanie.london@uafs.edu.
