Now we are on John Floyd Little and his wife, they had NINE children so I’m sure this will take several weeks. John Floyd was born in the local area and brought most of his children up in Arkansas.

On Ancestry.com, I found a copy of the 1900 US Federal Census for John F. Little. It shows him at age 11 living at Big Creek, Sebastian County, Ark. He was living with his parents and brothers and sisters. Another adult named Richard J. Dalton was living with them. I am not sure who he is. He might be a hired man to help with chores or maybe a relative, just some ideas.
In 1910, the US Federal Census still shows John Floyd living in Big Creek, Sebastian County, Ark. He was 21 years old and still single. He was living with his parents and brothers and sisters.
John Floyd married when he was 22 years old on Feb. 11, 1912, to Jessie Clawson. Her parents were Doug and Jane Clawson. John Floyd’s wife, Jessie, was raised in the same area of Arkansas as John Morgan. At the time of their marriage, they both were living in Lavaca, Sebastian County, Ark.
I examined a copy of the 1920 Federal Census with Floyd J. Little’s name on it and it shows him age 30. It lists his spouse as Jessie Little, age 26; Laurence J. as 7, Mary J. as 6, Howell U. as 4 and Jessie B. as 2. The 1930 Census shows the family living in Prairie Grove, Washington County, Ark.. Living with him and his wife, Floyd being 41 and wife Jessie being only 36, we find the following people: Children are Lawrence now age 17, Mary now 16, Howell is 14, Jessie Bell is 12, Eugene is 10, Calvin is 5, Harman is 3, Flora Joe is 2 and Garland is the baby.
The 1940 Federal US Census for John F. Little finds him living in Prairie, Washington County, Ark. It says he is a laborer, owns his own home and only finished 8th grade. The census also tells us he is married, age 50 and lives with wife Jessie and seven of his children, John L. age 27, Jessie B. age 22, Calvin B. age 15, Harmon D. age 13, Flora Jo age 12, James G. age 10 and Robert G. age 7. Notice it says James G. This is a new name to the tree. The middle initial G. is for Garland, so he is called that on the previous census record of 1930. He was called James or Garland in other records.

I have been communicating with a Little relative by the name of Aaron Little. He remembers meeting John Floyd Little when he was a very young child, he thinks that was in the early 1980’s. John Floyd died in 1983. Aaron Little does a lot of Little research online and has communicated with me numerous times. One email from Aaron states that he is great grandson of John Floyd Little.
