U.S. Sen. John Boozman, R-Ark., on Monday honored Marine Lance Cpl. Benjamin W. Tuttle, who died earlier this month while serving in support of the war in Afghanistan.
“Lance Cpl. Tuttle is a true American hero who made the ultimate sacrifice. I ask my colleagues to keep his family and friends in their thoughts and prayers. On behalf of a grateful nation, I humbly offer my sincerest gratitude for his patriotism and selfless service,” Boozman said.
Tuttle, a graduate of Gentry High School, died at the Landstuhl Regional Medical Cetner in Germany following a medical evacuation from the aircraft carrier USS Nimitz on July 14, according to the Department of Defense.
funeral service for Tuttle, 19, was held last week at First Baptist Church in Gentry, Ark.
