As many Americans celebrated Independence Day gathered with families and friends, U.S Senator John Boozman (R-AR) spent the week in the Middle East visiting with and thanking the men and women who make the holiday possible.
While in Afghanistan, Boozman had an opportunity to visit with Arkansas troops serving with the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF). During this time he was able to meet with Specialist Tim Van Brunt from Greenwood, AR.
“We always want to make sure that our troops serving abroad have everything they need to complete their mission and return home safely. This is especially important in the age of sequestration. We discussed the impact of that, as well as the effort to accelerate peace talks, so that we can bring our men and women home. And of course we talked about the prospects for the Hogs football team this fall as well,” Boozman said.
