Many will fondly recall E. M. (Bun) McConnell and his country store in the community of Cornish. Others have warm memories of Jake Stewart and his pharmacy on the Greenwood Square and none can forget Earl Dodd, who edited the Greenwood Democrat for some thirty-six years. These cherished citizens of Greenwood will be remembered by their daughters Joicie McConnell Gilbreath, Mary Stewart Richardson and Sharon Dodd Griffin at the July 21 meeting of the South Sebastian County Historical Society. The daughters will share photos and warm and often humorous stories in this “Celebration of Fathers.” All are invited to attend and to share their own recollections. For more information, call 996-6357.

When: Monday, July 21, 2014, 7 PM

Where: Farmer’s Bank Community Room, Greenwood, AR
