City limb pick up guidelines

The City of Greenwood will pick up limbs on the first Tuesday of each month. Residents must call to have their address added to the Limb List for pick up. All addresses must be received by 5 p.m. on the Monday before the first Tuesday of each month or they will be added to the pick up list for the next month. Limbs and bags need to be out by the curb by 8 a.m. on the first Tuesday to be picked up. Limbs must be less than six inches in diameter and less than 10 feet in length. Bagged item, such as hedge trimmings and leaves, must be left open so that the Street Department can see that there is no garbage or dirt inside.

There are a list of items that the city will not pick up. They include, but are not limited to: tree stumps, manufactured lumber or material or bags with dirt and garbage in them. Limbs or bagged items cannot be more than 15 feet from the road. Limbs or bags cannot be placed in a ditch, on a water meter, sewer manhole or gas meter. Leaves, grass clippings and hedge trimmings must be bagged, they will not be picked up in trash cans.
