These limbs are piled correctly. They are parallel to the road and the pile is less than 12 feet in length. The pile is not on a water meter, manhole or in a ditch.
The City of Greenwood will be picking up limbs beginning Thursday. Limb pick-up will continue every day possible until the limbs from the ice storm are picked up. Residents must call City Hall (996-2742) to have their address added to the Limb List for pick up.
Limbs and bags need to be out by the curb to be picked up. Limbs must be less than six inches in diameter and less than 10 feet in length. Piles cannot be longer than 12 feet in length, but there is no limit to the height. Limbs should be stacked parallel to the street. Bagged item, such as hedge trimmings and leaves, must be left open so that the Street Department can see that there is no garbage or dirt inside.
There are a list of items that the city will not pick up. They include, but are not limited to: tree stumps, manufactured lumber or material or bags with dirt and garbage in them. Limbs or bagged items cannot be more than 15 feet from the road. Limbs or bags cannot be placed in a ditch, on a water meter, sewer manhole or gas meter. Leaves, grass clippings and hedge trimmings must be bagged, they will not be picked up in trash cans.
