Last Wednesday morning, July 2, the Greenwood Police Department stopped a vehicle on Highway 10. The two individuals in the vehicle were Emmery York and Valerie Sirk.
Police Chief Will Dawson stated the pair was stopped for several violations. York was driving on a suspended license and Sirk was wanted on an arrest warrant.
After finding what was believed to be marijuana on York, a K-9 unit was called in to search the vehicle. A bank bag containing three ounces of methamphetamine was found where the filter should have been under the hood. According to Dawson, drugs were also found inside the vehicle.
The Greenwood Police Department seized the vehicle and an estimated $8,400 worth of drugs.
York is facing charges of Possession of Meth with Purpose to Deliver, Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia with Intent to Ingest.
Sirk is facing charges of Possession of Meth with Purpose to Deliver and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia with Intent to Ingest.
