Student Micheal Sanders of Mansfield High School was diagnosed with leukemia in March. The Mansfield High School EAST (Environmental and Spatial Technology) classroom held a competition to see which grade could raise the most money to help Micheal’s family with expenses caused by this illness.

The competition was called Money for Micheal and the total money raised was $280. The sophomore class won the competition and received a pizza party. The EAST Classroom would like to thank Simple Simon’s of Mansfield for donating the pizza. An account has been set up at Chamber’s Bank to help the family with their expenses. If you would like to donate you can do so at any Chamber’s Bank.

EAST is an educational model focusing on student-driven service projects accomplished by using teamwork and cutting-edge technology. Students are responsible for creating their own project-based learning experience.
