Greenwood Fire fighters will be conducting their annual “Fill-the-Boot” event Thursday, September 12 benefiting the Arkansas Chapter of the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA). Proceeds raised during Fill-the-Boot will help support MDA services and research programs, including visits to an MDA Clinic, local support groups, equipment repairs, MDA Summer Camp and services to Arkansans suffering with 43 muscle diseases including ALS. All funds raised stay in the state of Arkansas.
Last year, these Firefighters collected $3,400.00 for MDA thanks to the generosity of Greenwood citizens.
The Fill-the-Boot tradition began almost 60 years ago and MDA is honored to continue that partnership. Every year, firefighters’ boots across the country overflow with coins and cash to support families affected by neuromuscular disease!
The Fill-the-Boot campaign will begin September 13 at 3:30 p.m. and end at 7:30 p.m.
Fire fighters will be at the intersections of Denver/Center and Center/N. Main main with boots in hand, asking motorists to make donations to this worthy cause.
