The students of Greenwood Junior High walked a lap on May 29 in honor of Hunter Stanford, a GJHS student who passed away last February. A Memorial Walk for Hunter was held in May of last year to raise money for the Gregory Kistler Center and Hunter’s Ho Ho Fund.
“Hunter was a person full of enthusiasm and love,” Greenwood Junior High’s Special Education Teacher, Marka Keddie, said. “He shared his smile with everyone he met. He will never be forgotten in the Greenwood Schools.”
The students of GJHS wanted to honor Hunter by walking a lap again this year. Additionally, many of Stanford’s family members and others in the community came to walk from 3-5 p.m. at the GHS track that same day in memory of Stanford.
All donations from this year’s walk will go directly to Hunter’s Ho Ho Fund so that Christmas gifts may be purchased for those in need during Hunter Stanford’s favorite season.
