It’s been called the “best kept secret in Fort Smith,” but now Jennifer’s at Sparks is moving into the spotlight.
The full-service gift shop is relocating to a space just inside the Main Entrance of Sparks Regional Medical Center. A ribbon-cutting will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, May 16. Guests can register for door prizes all day.
Construction for the new location began last November, but the move has been anticipated for the last few years.
“It’s been a goal of mine to make this move so that Jennifer’s is easier for visitors to find so that we can provide a respite for families and convenience for patients and associates,” said Sherri Fant, Manager and Buyer for Jennifer’s at Sparks.
In addition to easier access, the location will provide more space for new adult and baby boutique clothing lines, as well as a “Patient and Family Business Center” where visitors can utilize computers with internet access, and copier and fax machines.
Many of the smiling faces you see at Jennifer’s are Sparks Auxiliary members. Proceeds from sales at the gift shop go to fund Sparks Auxiliary projects like valet parking, a service that is provided free of charge to patients and hospital guests. The Auxiliary also provides scholarships to local students and contributes to other charities.
“We credit much of the success of our gift shop to Sherri,” said Vicki James, President of the Sparks Auxiliary. “She has gone above and beyond to make Jennifer’s at Sparks one of the most unique gift shops in our community and we thank Sherri for her hard work.”
