The past month has been a busy and productive one for the Greenwood Jr. and Sr. High Quiz Bowl teams.

On February 22 the junior high team took second place at the 6A Junior Finals Tournament. Team captain Olivia Brown and Bryce Cohea were both named to the All-tournament Team.

The next week the team took second at the Western Educational Cooperative’s Jr. High Tournament on February 27. Greenwood’s East Hills 7th Grade team finished tied for fifth place in the sixteen-team tournament.

On February 28 the senior high team took third at the Sr. High Co-op Tournament, and on March 8 they competed at the 6A Regional Tournament at Lake Hamilton High school where they finished fourth and qualified to compete in the 6A State Tournament. That tournament will be held on April 12 at UAFS.

Finally, on March 15 the Jr. High Team avenged their loss to Lake Hamilton in the finals of the 6A Jr. Finals Tournament, by defeating them and the rest of the field at the Tournament of Champions in Pine Bluff. Greenwood’s 7-0 record earned them first place at the round robin tournament. The Jr. Bulldogs defeated both of the 6A Jr. Finals Champions, Lake Hamilton and Benton, a 5A champion, Batesville, two 5A runners-up, Lakeside and Watson Chapel, and both 1A champions, Haas Hall and Mt. Vernon-Enola. Bryce Cohea and Olivia Brown were named to the All-tournament team.

Joining Brown and Cohea on the junior high team are Blake Bartlett, Brianna Griffith, Sabah Ismail, Caroline Kelley, Bee Rainey, and Woody Woodring. Jackson Mitchell joined the team at the co-op tournament.

The senior high team consists of Danielle Bridges, Samantha Briggs, Christian Griffith, Briana Hice, Eric Huynh, Samia Ismail, Eli LaSalle, Sarah Logan, Hunter Moore, Annalise Orban, and Joseph Schneider.

Both teams are coached by Rick Clow. Carrah Efurd is the teams’ judge.
