Local fire hurts animal rescue operation

<p>PHOTO BY NIKII PARKER</p><p>On Saturday, February 15, approximately 18 acres of pasture belonging to Kerry and Nikii Parker was decimated by fire. The Parkers run a rescue service for horses on their property off of Bonnie Bell Lane. The pasture lost was mostly hay and was hoped to be used to feed several of the horses currently being rehabilitated. According to unofficial reports, the fire was started by fireworks set off in the neighborhood.</p>
