Shawn Shelton with McDonald’s presents Tracy Haest with a $500 check for the McDonald’s sponsorship of this year’s Yule run 5K hosted by the Greenwood Chamber of Commerce.

The race will take place on December 14 at 9 a.m. with check-in beginning at 8 a.m. at the Means Wilkinson Community room at Farmers Bank. Registration is $20 on or before December 12 or $30 thereafter.

Long-sleeve t-shirts will be given to the first 150 registrants. Cash prizes will be given to the race participant with the most Christmas themed attire. “The course is a challenging course,” Director Davis states. “Now we want to make it a unique, enjoyable run. Hopefully, a lot of people will dress in some kind of Christmas attire for spectators to see.”

The race will be chip timed again this year, a process in which runners run across mats that electronically start and stop their time, making for a more accurate time. For additional information, please contact the Greenwood Chamber of Commerce at 996-6357.
