USA Truck awarded a total of $10,000 in scholarships for the 2014-15 academic year to 10 students throughout the country who are children and dependents of USA Truck team members. Since its inception four years ago, the USA Truck Scholarship Program has awarded $69,000 in scholarships to 47 recipients, demonstrating the company’s ongoing commitment to team member families and to the communities in which they live.
“USA Truck is pleased to continue assisting our team members and their families as the scholarship recipients pursue their academic goals,” said Burton Weis, Vice President of Human Resources for USA Truck. “With the rising cost of higher education, every contribution matters. Continuing our support through this program is one way USA Truck can help make a difference. We wish this year’s recipients all the best for 2014-15 and beyond.”
The program is offered each year for full-time study at an accredited institution of the student’s choice. Up to 10 awards of $1,000 each are granted to students attending a two-year technical college or vocational technical school and students attending a four year college or university. Nationally recognized Scholarship Management Services, a division of Scholarship America, reviews the applicants and selects scholarship recipients.
