Jean B. Teel, 79, of Greenwood, Ark. died March 7, 2014. She was born Aug. 13, 1934 in Phoenix City, Ala.
She was a nurse at Lake Charles Memorial Hospital in Lake Charles, La., St. Edward Hospital in Fort Smith and a retiree of the Osteopathic Hospital in Arlington, Texas. She was of the Christian faith.
She made custom and hand crafted soap, loved to make wedding dresses and cooking Cajun foods.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Leona Matthews; grandmother, Mattie Lou Fawcett, who raised her; her husband, Jesse E. Teel; two sons, David and Steven Teel; and two grandchildren, Justin and Catayah Teel.
A memorial service was held Saturday, March 15, at Greenwood United Methodist Church in Greenwood. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Booneville Funeral Service of Booneville.
She is survived by one daughter, Grace Bishop and husband Gary of Springfield, Mo.; two sons, Paul Teel and wife Lillie of Greenwood, and Daniel Teel and close friend Nancy Nameth of Lake Placid, Fla.; nine grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
