Kenneth Thorpe Farris, 77 of Greenwood passed away Tuesday, January 28, 2014 in his home. He was a retired tool and die setter of 27 years for Rheem Manufacturing in Fort Smith and a financial secretary for United Steel Workers Union of America. A resident of Greenwood since 1978 and was a native of Cedarville. He loved hunting, fishing and gardening, anything outdoors. He was preceded in death by one son Ron Farris, his parents Zachary & Gladys (Commons) Farris, one sister and six brothers.
Funeral services were Friday, January 31, 2014 at Ocker Memorial Chapel in Van Buren with burial in Dripping Springs in Van Buren under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home in Van Buren.
He is survived by his wife Garnet of the home, three daughters Sharla Derry of Greenwood, Robbin Heidelberg of Cedarville, Cyndi Blood of Elgin, Ariz.; one son Tommy Farris of Mountainburg; one sister Nita Bean of Fort Smith; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Kenneth Decker, Jack Helms, Bill Helms, Charlie Lutz, John Ottwell, and Doug Birchfield.
Honorary pallbearers were Chester Bean, Matthew Heidelberg, Leo Gage, Lloyd Gage, Dustin Farris, Kyle Spoon, Ron McEnroe, Rick Heidelberg, David Derry, Jim McClure, Leroy Tindle.
