Tura Elna Wood Beshears, 96 of Greenwood, Ark., passed from this life Monday, December 23, 2013 at Mercy Hospice in Fort Smith, Ark. She was born December 7, 1917 in Ault, Colo. to Dock Alonzo and Lina Mae Wood and was raised in Berryville, Ark. with her three brothers Kenneth, Dean and Max and her two sisters Mae and Evelyn. Tura married the love of her life Elmer Robert Beshears on February 20, 1937 in Berryville, Ark. Their extraordinary 73 year marriage produced their five beloved children; Bill, Jim, Don, Shirley and Roger, 21 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren, and 12 great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral service was Friday, December 27, 2013 at the Greenwood Church of Christ with burial at Greenwood Memorial Cemetery under the direction of McConnell Funeral Home of Greenwood. Dennis Gage will be officiating with congregational singing led by Scott Gage.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Elmer Beshears, her son Bill Beshears, her parents Dock and Lina Wood, her brothers Kenneth, Robert, Dean and Max Wood and sisters Mae Billington and Evelyn Ginn. She is survived by her daughter and son- in-law Shirley and Lenoir Hanry of Greenwood, her son and daughter-in-law Jim and Martha Beshears of Greenwood, her son and daughter-in-law Don and Edna Beshears, her son and daughter-in-law Roger and Lavetta Beshears of Fort Smith, daughter-in-law Faye Beshears of Tulsa, Oklahoma; 21 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were grandsons Billy, Chris, Ronald, Allen, Keith, Ewan, Rick and Larin Beshears, Tommy Thompson, and Bryan Hanry. Honorary pallbearers were Dale McKinney, James Bailey, Darrin Stephens, Jim Woodruff, Patrick Neas, Jay Garner, Matt Edwards, and Ryan LaFleur.
