Charles Carroll

Charles Leonard Carroll, Jr. 86, of Fort Smith passed away on Monday, February 11, 2014 in a local nursing home. He was born in Little Rock to Charles Leonard and Sylvia (Chandler) Carroll. He was a retired teacher of 33 years and was the special education coordinator for five separate school districts. He served in the U.S. Navy in both World War II and Korea, was an active member of Gideons International and of Harvest Time Tabernacle.

Funeral services were Monday, February 17, 2014 at Ocker-Putman Funeral Home Chapel burial with military honors will be in the U.S. National Cemetery.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years Barbara Carroll of the home, two daughters, LuAnn Watkins and Pamala Endicott of Irving, Texas; four sons, Charles Leonard “Lenny” Carroll III of North Little Rock, Raymond Scott Crow of California, Jonathan Lee Carroll of Tulsa, Okla. and Michael Leonard Carroll of Colorado; one brother, Bill Dean Carroll of North Little Rock; 14 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
