<p>Ann Akins and Kay Voss of Alpha Delta Chapter of ESA, sponsors of the Airing of the Quilts, present a check to South Sebastian County Historical Society president Meryl Efurd at the May 16 meeting. Proceeds from the quilt show assist the Society in maintaining their historic properties and preserving local history. ESA is a philanthropic organization and has been in existence in Greenwood for over fifty years.</p>

<p>Mayor Doug Kinslow is shown here in Bell Park last week planting trees with kindergarten students. Seven trees were planted that day, one for each class. Kinslow explained to the students that the trees belonged to them and that they should keep an eye on them as they get older and if they need attention they should contact the mayor’s office.</p>
