<p>Prospective firefighter, Jay Garner, drags a 180 pound dummy during an agility test for new recruits for the Greenwood City Fire Department. Along with dragging the dummy prospects had to roll and drag hose, simulate using an axe to open a roof, climb stairs, climb the ladder on the tower truck and navigate a maze in full gear. The agility test is the second step in the departments hiring process.</p>

<p>Oct. 29, 1981 Cephas Peters sits in the drivers’ seat of his brand new Yamaha gasoline powered cart given to him by the Alpha Delta Chapter of Epsilon Sigma Alpha, which coordinated a fund raising project for its purchase. Peters says he would like to “thank everyone from the bottom of my heart” who made donations for the cart and gave a special thanks to the sorority. When it was suggested that Peters get a girlfriend and take her for a ride, he said, “Why, I’m going to get three or four! But I don’t know where I’ll put them all.” The cart is a two seater.</p>
