Greenwood athletic director, Jerry Cecil, announces that a parent-coach meeting will be held on Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at 6:00 PM in the Greenwood High School Performing Arts Center (PAC) for parents to get information on various athletic programs offered by Greenwood Schools. The meeting will give parents an opportunity to hear coaches talk briefly about individual sports and the expectations and guidelines for each sport.

The parents/guardian of any Greenwood athlete who will enter grades seven through 12 for the 2014-15 school year should attend. Due to limited space, athletes will not attend. This will start in the PAC with all parents and coaches in a general meeting. In the general meeting, head coaches will be introduced then information will be provided by the athletic director and the certified athletic trainer on insurance, season passes, AAA rules, sports medicine program and other items.

Following the general meeting, parents will accompany the head coach of their particular sport to another room to get information on their specific sport and to receive the Bulldog handbook. Coaches will address expectations for athletes, team rules, their coaching philosophy and additional information.

“This will be first year for us to start our parent-coach meetings with a general meeting with everyone in one location,” Cecil stated. “It should be informative and interesting. We need parents of all seventh grade through 12th grade athletes to attend.”

The general meeting in the PAC is expected to last about 30 minutes and the break-out sessions for individual sports should be about 30 minutes.
