Hackett Hornets finish strong in Basketball

The Hackett Lady Hornets hosted the Acorn Lady Tigers in the first game Hackett Tip-Off Classic on Monday November, 25. The Lady Hornets were outmatched and lost the game by a score of 50-80. Junior Brittney Locklear led the Hackett scoring by pouring in 21 points and Sophomore Drew Davis added 14. The Lady Hornets (1-2) fell behind after one period and could not recover. On Tuesday in the second game of the Hackett Tip-Off Classic the Lady Hornets were victorious over the Western Yell County Lady Wolverines by a score of 49-32. Again, the Lady Hornets (2-2) were led in scoring by Junior Brittney Locklear’s 15 points and Sophomore Macayla Womack added 12. The Lady Hornets will take on the Lady Tigers of West Fork in their next outing in the Gary Ford Invitational Tournament in Hartford on Monday December 2.

The Hackett Lady Hornets traveled to Hartford on Monday December 2 to take on the West Fork Lady Tigers in the Gary Ford Invitational Tournament. The Lady Hornets came up short losing to the Lady Tigers 46-59. The Lady Hornets (2-3) came out slow but managed to recover by half time with the score being tied 24-24. The Lady Tigers (3-2) owned the third and fourth quarters outscoring the Lady Hornets by 6 and 8 respectively. Sophomore Drew Davis’ 18 points led Hackett. Hackett was 11-for-18 from behind the 3 point line but it just wasn’t enough.
