Dr. Sandy Johnson with Johnson Dermatology has presented Race Director Randy Johnson with a $500 check to co-sponsor the Yule Run 5K hosted by the Greenwood Chamber of Commerce.

Dr. Johnson, a runner herself, has helped support the race for the past six years.

The race will be chip timed again this year, a process in which runners, equipped with microchips, run across mats that electronically start and stop their time. This makes for a substantially more accurate time.

The Yule Run will take place on December 14 at 9 a.m. with check in beginning at 8 a.m. at the Means Wilkinson Community Room at Farmers Bank. Registration is $20 before or on December 12. The fee is $30 after that date. Long sleeve t-shirts will be given to the first 150 registrants.

Cash prizes will be given to the race participants with the most Christmas themed attire. “The course is a challenging course,” Director Davis states. “In addition to being challenging, we would like to add a little something to make it unique and enjoyable.”
