True Grit gets grittier

Registration is open for the Third Annual True Grit Ride 100 and the First Annual True Grit Mountain Bike Ride!

Got Grit? The Community Services Clearinghouse Guild is hosting the third annual True Grit Ride 100 on Saturday, June 21, 2014. The ride is scheduled to begin at 7 a.m. at Ben Geren Park in Fort Smith, Ark. The ride includes 10, 35, 50, 75 and the True Grit 100 mile routes. Chuck-Wagon aid stations are roughly 10 miles apart.

Get Gritty: New to the True Grit Ride this year is a Mountain Bike Ride (MBR) beginning at 7:00 AM at Ben Geren Park in Fort Smith, Ark. and riders will venture on over to Springhill Park before returning to the finish line at Ben Geren. The Mountain Bike Ride includes 18, 40 and 50-mile courses with Chuck Wagon aid stations for your convenience. Maps for the MBR will be posted on their website. Registration is $40.

All riders and volunteers are welcomed to mosey on over to the finish line and enjoy some of the best barbeque and sweet tea the south has to offer! Its BBQ so good it’s time to pig out! (Vegetarian options will be available this year.)

Through the generosity of their riders and sponsors, the True Grit Ride raised over $50,000 to give to the Clearinghouse in 2013.
